• Guy Cyril Tuyau

    PRESIDENT

    Cyril joined SACIM in 2008 while attending the 35th anniversary of the Association. He responded to an appeal made by then President, Herve Rochecouste for financial members to join the committee. He became treasurer in 2010, and was later elected President in 2012.

    As an accountant, he felt that he could use his skills and knowledge to help the Association achieve its primary goals of raising funds to help vulnerable, and sick children.

    He strongly believes that we should all do our bit to contribute to society and help make the world a better place.

  • Gilbert Clark

    VICE PRESIDENT & EVENT COORDINATOR

    Gilbert was first appointed to the SACIM committee in 2004 and has served as President from 2008 to 2012. His philosophy is to “stand up and be counted.” Gilbert believes that if he is helping any disadvantage child from his birth country, then he has upheld his philosophy.

  • Christiane Quenette

    TREASURER

    For Christiane, it all started when she was asked to attend a SACIM fundraiser dinner dance many years ago. There, she was made aware of the hard-working Society helping sick children in Mauritius. This is when she became a paid member, and it was not long after that she joined the committee. Christiane has now been the treasurer for the last few years.

  • Shirley Tuyau

    SECRETARY

    Shirley has been involved with SACIM since 2009 and officially became a committee member in 2019. She was elected secretary in 2020. As a worker in the welfare sector, Shirley is passionate about helping those who are at a disadvantage in our community. She is a strong advocate for social justice and believes that every child has the right to access to the necessary medical treatment for a healthy lifestyle.

May Herry

Along with husband, Fritz, May has a long-time involvement with SACIM. Over the years they have both provided support and acted as foster parents to many children seeking help from SACIM.

Fabienne Nichola

Fabiene is our most recent committee member joining SACIM on its 50th anniversary. As the only member from Rodrigues, she hopes to develop greater awareness of SACIM’s valuable work in the Rodriguan community. With over 15 years of community service through her active involvement in Camberwell Rotary, her goal is to use her experience and network to support the SACIM’s work..

Didier Le Miere

Didier has been involved with SACIM since 2016, helping at the annual charity dinner dance, and officially became a committee member in 2021. Didier is passionate about ensuring equity, and in doing so, helping those that are disadvantaged amongst society. He believes that having access to medical treatment is a right for all children.

Marie-Anne Marlène Tesmann

Marlène became an active member of SACIM after supporting the organisation for a number of years due to her parent’s involvement.

She fulfilled the role of secretary for over 15 years and during that time, she and her husband have had the opportunity to host Mauritian children and their mothers who came here for treatment.

Her aim is to continue to support the team who face so many challenges in their effort to help the disadvantage children of Mauritius.

Chantal Felix

Chantal was inspired to join SACIM after attending a SACIM event where Dr Paddy Dewan delivered a presentation about the work and achievements that SACIM has done for children in Mauritius.

Chantal officially joined the organisation in April 2004 and is proud to have contributed to the good work done by SACIM, and to be working alongside her committee members, who are all voluntarily working for a good cause.
