GUY CYRIL TUYAU
President
Cyril joined SACIM in 2008 while attending the 35th anniversary of the Association. He responded to an appeal made by then-President Herve Rochecouste, for financial members to join the committee. He became treasurer in 2010 and was later elected President in 2012.
As an accountant, he felt that he could use his skills and knowledge to help the Association achieve its primary goals of raising funds to help vulnerable and sick children.
He strongly believes that we should all do our bit to contribute to society and help make the world a better place.

RHEEA BUSAWON
Vice President & Medical Cases Coordinator
Rheea came to Australia as an international student and has since developed a strong commitment to giving back to the Mauritian community. She joined SACIM in 2025, where she contributes her time and expertise to supporting medical cases and managing stakeholder engagement. As a young mother, Rheea is particularly passionate about helping sick children access opportunities for a second chance and an improved quality of life. She brings strong finance and accounting knowledge to the organisation, supporting sound governance, compliance, and responsible decision-making. Her empathetic leadership style, combined with her professional experience and community-focused values, has led to her appointment as Vice President.

Didier has been involved with SACIM since 2016, helping at the annual charity dinner dance, and officially became a committee member in 2021. Since 2025, Didier has stepped in as Sacim’ Secretary. Didier is passionate about ensuring equity and, in doing so, helping those who are disadvantaged in society. He believes that having access to medical treatment is a right for all children.

CHRISTIANE QUENETTE
Treasurer
For Christiane, it all started when she was asked to attend a SACIM fundraiser dinner dance many years ago. There, she was made aware of the hard-working Society helping sick children in Mauritius. This is when she became a paid member, and it was not long after that she joined the committee. Christiane has been a member of the Committee since 2006 and has served as Treasurer since 2012.
Ordinary Committee Members
FABIENNE NICHOLA
Fabienne joined SACIM on its 50th anniversary. As the only member from Rodrigues, she hopes to develop greater awareness of SACIM’s valuable work in the Rodriguan community. With over 15 years of community service through her active involvement in Camberwell Rotary, her goal is to use her experience and network to support SACIM’s work.
Projects Coordinator
HANSINI R. JHOWRY
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” - Aesop
Hansini moved to Australia from Mauritius in 2017 as an international student. Although she now calls Australia home, Mauritius has always remained close to her heart. Since arriving, she has attended SACIM's annual Dinner Dance almost every year and, before joining the Committee in 2025, was a familiar face at these events, welcoming guests and supporting the Association's fundraising efforts.
In 2025, Hansini joined the SACIM Committee as Compliance Officer, where she supports the Association's governance and compliance responsibilities.
Inspired by SACIM's commitment to improving the lives of sick and disadvantaged children in Mauritius, Hansini believes every child deserves access to quality healthcare, support, and the opportunity for a brighter future. She is proud to be part of an organisation that brings together the Mauritian community in Australia to make a meaningful difference and looks forward to supporting SACIM's mission for many years to come.
Compliance Officer
KOVID SEECHURN
Guided by integrity, humility, and a sense of responsibility, Kovid is honoured to support SACIM’s mission of helping children in Mauritius access life-changing medical care.
He believes that the greatest impact is often made through quiet acts of service.
Fundraising Coordinator
GILBERT CLARK
Gilbert was appointed to the SACIM committee in 2004 and has served as President from 2008 to 2012. He was previously our Vice President for many years, until December 2025. His philosophy is to “stand up and be counted.” Gilbert believes that if he is helping any disadvantaged child from his birth country, then he has upheld his philosophy.
Mentor to Fundraising Coordinator
CHANTAL FELIX
Chantal was inspired to join SACIM after attending a SACIM event where Dr Paddy Dewan delivered a presentation about the work and achievements that SACIM has done for children in Mauritius.
Chantal officially joined the organisation in April 2004 and is proud to have contributed to the good work done by SACIM and to be working alongside her committee members, who are all voluntarily working for a good cause.
